All lies

British TV has lied to me, I have been here for 2 weeks and I have
yet to see any snakes at all. I'm starting to think that it is all a
big con. (Now the God of irony is going to put things right, and this
may be my last post.)

when I told people I was going to Auz, there were two reactions.
1. You're going to love it and it's great.
2. You will die. Beware spiders and snakes and if they don't get you, a shark will.

I vote for option 1. Hope you do too.

Hehehe I know what you mean.. I've been in WA for 5 years now and have only seen one real life wild snake! - When I first arrived I was terrified to go out in the dark for the first week or so, because I thought I might tread on one, because apparently the place is "Crawling" with them!
The media lies.. I'm sure it's just to keep people away from Australia :-p

I guess I only heard about Oz from the discovery channel, and all that they talk about is Nazi's, snakes, spiders, and sharks.

I am loving it, but I still check under my pillow before I go to bed.

Don't be silly, there is no room under there with Stephen King's It in residence.

I can only recall one deadly spider incident in over 20 years of watching Neighbours. You should have stuck to Neighbours if you want the 'truth' about (utterly sexless) Australia.
