Hi, I'm Rick also known as Mr. C. I used to shoot with a Canon SLR, but that was a long while back. I got a new camera, an Olympus SP-510UZ on 11/06/06. I've added a Nikon D90 with a 55-200 lens to my camera bag in 2010. I'll get a camphone if Almont ever enters the 21st century.
I'm now shooting with a brand new Nikon D90 with a 55-200mm VR lens.
Nice pics. I'd like to see the cliff swallow 'island' in the 3rd shot. Is it possible to canoe there?
Thanks, C. It's about a mile and a half from Crappie Creek. On a calm, non-windy day, it would be doable.
Thanks, Nige. We had a blast!
C, I'm working on a design to build a rack for the lil' Mazda to carry it.
Thanks, 095. There was a lot of waterfowl migrating through. It was great to watch them instead of the fishin' poles.
Thanks, Looker. You can only jig for so long before your arm gets tired; have to put the rod down to rest a bit. If something good shows up, put the rod down, take a shot then go back to jiggin'.
Look at these. So good. Threw my mind back to when I was in New Zealand ...
Thanks, Taniwha. It was a good day. Enjoying all the migrating birds and catching fish. I caught seven different types of fish, Walleye, Perch (top shot), Bullhead, Yellow Catfish, White and Small Mouth Bass...I can't remember the seventh now.
I've never been to New Zealand, I'd love to go there.
I think you'd love it. These pictures remind me a lot of the area around Raglan ... though partly because I had a wee boat that I'd take around the harbour.
I know I'd love it. I have a canoe which I like to take out, I can get to areas which are too shallow for other boats, so there aren't any people around. A wee boat around the harbor though, that's awesome. Something I would love to do one of these days.
all stunning shots
what a wonderful place to spend a day and I especially like that top shot. Is he edible?
Ace series, Rick, what I wouldn't give for a day on the water, in such lovely surroundings ....
Thanks, D. That's a perch in the top shot, they are very edible. This guy had a good day though, I released him. :)
Thanks, Maggie. This is out at Lake Tschida, which is really close to us. There's nothing like a nice day on the water.
