Earthquake Damage

I have no idea whether or when this will go through. My dailyme does not seem to wish to post, after two send attempts. I am sure they will both go through eventually.

Anyhow, we had an earthquake. Not huge, but with the epicenter about 6 miles from the house a 4.5 is a little bit startling anyhow.

Plus, the little horse that kungfuzap made fell off the shelf where it was displayed, and broke.

Now I can put the head in somebody's bed.

Shame that it broke, but at least you can be a sort of mini mafia now ;)

Strangely, that was the only thing damaged in the entire house. During the rumbling, rolling quake, we heard one little item drop and break. This little horsey was it.

Poor little guy. So cute. Hope it can be repaired.

A quake of this size causes a variety of reactions in people, depending on their own personality and previous experience with quakes, and where they are when the quake hits. The type of structure you are in and the geology on which it is sitting (and between it and the epicenter) makes a big difference to how it feels, even when it is close to th epicenter.

I know people who barely noticed it and people who were fairly freaked out by it. However most of the people who were scared, it wasn't so much the quake itself, but the... "What's coming next? Was that just a foreshock to a bigger one?" question that can run through their minds.

Me? I REALLY dislike earthquakes, they tend to stress me out quite a bit.
