Leeds - Liverpool Canal Bike Challenge 2007 Day 3

Wigan to Liverpool. All of the canal is really beautiful, apart from the last bit as we approached Liverpool, it was filthy and unloved. At one point there was even a car floating in it. Unfortunately the combination of the heavy rain (didn't want to get my phone wet) and my competitive nature (didn't want our friends to overtake us) meant no photo stops!

So nearly 34 miles from Wigan to Liverpool , giving a total of 127 miles over the 3 days. I am going to suggest to the organisers they do it over 2 days next time to make it more of a challenge. It was great fun, we have never been so wet or so muddy, but i didn't want it to end

OJ - the mayor was supposed to be at the finish to greet us, but apparently we were too fast for him, or he fancied a lie in!

OJ says:
