"We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered." - Guildenstern, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

A "Schein" is a piece of paper that states that you have taken a
course and passed it. At universtiy, you have to collect them until
you have enough to apply for final exams. So, they are somewhat
important documents, and for fear of losing them, lazy people leave
them sitting at the secretaries' offices far too long, and they are
not allowed to throw them out even though they have - as this picture
states - "hundreds" of them...

You'd think they'd invent some sort of way of keeping track of what courses you've done, rather than relying on something old-fashioned like paper.

(also - hello! not seen you round these parts for a while)

Yeah, it's kind of silly, and I'm sure they do keep track of the courses (and accompanying grades!) electronically as well.

And yes, I took a long break because I felt that I didn't have anything interesting to post for a long time... But I have come to the conclusion that "normal" things can be just as interesting, so I'm working on getting back to moblogging. It may take some time though. ;)
