I'd be so very allergic to the frosting but dude, I'll scrape it off, pass me a cupcake!

4th May 2007, 04:40

bronxelf says:

You're allergic to chamomile?

4th May 2007, 05:05

silar31 says:

Yep. No chamomile tea for me, which I found out the hard way a few years ago one night when I was having trouble sleeping.

4th May 2007, 05:33

bronxelf says:

You can make it with any kind of tea you like, really. :) I posted the recipe to food porn, as usual. realistically? It's powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract and ripping open about four teabags.

Caine says:

Oh, that looks scrumptious. I love a good lemon muffin or cupcake.

4th May 2007, 05:43

bronxelf says:

These are really dense, so be warned. They're not light at all.

4th May 2007, 05:46

Caine says:

That's fine with me. Ultra-lemon.

4th May 2007, 05:49

bronxelf says:

Oh I assure you, these are ultra lemon. Also, not incredibly sweet. The icing makes up for the relative lack of sugar in the cake.

4th May 2007, 06:06

Caine says:

I think that's best with lemon. Too sugary just doesn't work with lemon for me, it detracts from the lemon flavour too much.

bronxelf says:

Then I suggest you give these a shot. They're *very* dense, not very sweet, and very lemony. even plain, I heard they were good (I didn't have any until after they were frosted.)

anonymous says:

They look wonderful... you've given me a notion for cupcake-sized lemon meringue pies...

4th May 2007, 10:07

540air says:

They look delicious!! :)

4th May 2007, 10:12

bronxelf says:

They're very good. The recipe made about 16 (I was expecting 12.) Now i have to come up with what flavor to do next week...

4th May 2007, 20:52

540air says:

Orange maybe, or lime? Orange would probably be a good'un :)

4th May 2007, 23:36

bronxelf says:

I did orange last week, remember? I did the bitter chocolate and orange... And I did lime two weeks ago. Click the "cupcakes" tag.

4th May 2007, 23:46

540air says:

Oops, that'll teach me to not pay attention!! :D

Strawberry then?

5th May 2007, 00:00

bronxelf says:

You're the second person to mention strawberry... I might, I also might do coconut, since I have some cream of coconut i need to use up. I'll see what I pick up this weekend.

5th May 2007, 00:02

540air says:

Ooooo coconut? Yep, go for that :)

5th May 2007, 00:04

Helen says:

Coffee? Or, um, pineapple! Or apple. Or ginger. Ginger's good.
