my dad's attitude (as is mine) was "if it's on the plate you eat it" I was excused cauliflower after he made me try it and I was instantly sick - I can eat pickled cauliflower, but the texture is just all wrong.

Cauli and dhal is a great combination. I usually use red split lentils (masoor dhal) fried then boiled in the same pan as the cauli - cooks a soft comfort spicy mush. Great looking meal...
