500 squid for a London Taxi? Bargain! Does this mean he gets to drive in bus lanes with impunity?

swamprose says:

it's lovely. and red.
and you can coach him on Indian Death Cab Driving.

Puddlepuff says:

I wanna have one for 500 pounds,...

Where the hell do you buy such a thing?

Just awesome.

Steve says:

He wanted to try the whole bus lane thang, but decided that it was probably a bad idea.

He looked on ebay to begin with, but ended up getting it from Exchange and mart. He then had to get it MOT'd as London taxis don't have an MOT, Red Ken looks after them!

Dhamaka says:

nice big vehicle - Here's wishing him he gets everything he wants from it

16th Feb 2007, 06:45

Helen says:

But he can't take that to New Zealand?!

16th Feb 2007, 07:06

Steve says:

Actually he's thinking about it! it would probably cost twice as much as it's worth.

16th Feb 2007, 07:07

Helen says:

It would take 5 years to get there.

16th Feb 2007, 07:11

Steve says:

He was hoping for 6 months

16th Feb 2007, 07:12

Helen says:

That's probably realistic. If he can get it on a ship straightaway.

Did he sell his PB?

16th Feb 2007, 07:21

Steve says:

Yeah that went a few weeks ago, we might be getting his nice sofa! which means that the front room will have, well, room!

16th Feb 2007, 07:25

Helen says:

Much better. A room with actual room.

16th Feb 2007, 07:32

Steve says:

It might catch on

16th Feb 2007, 07:33

teflon says:

Sounds like a crazy idea, I'm sure it won't spread.

So when you get a sofa for the front room are you going to invite people round for a cuppa?

16th Feb 2007, 07:53

Steve says:

At the moment we have 2 sofas but they take up so much room that people don't fit as well.

But yes give it another 2 weeks and all should be complete, and I can cook again!!!

16th Feb 2007, 07:56

Helen says:

Have you planned what you'll cook yet? To celebrate the kitchen?

16th Feb 2007, 07:58

Steve says:

We are having a roast as that uses everything and we can all eat it.

16th Feb 2007, 08:00

Helen says:

And then pizza?

16th Feb 2007, 08:01

Steve says:

Are you trying to wangle a slice of pizza?

16th Feb 2007, 08:02

Helen says:

I am abstaining from cheese.

You shouldn't let yourself forget how to make the pizza.

16th Feb 2007, 08:04

Steve says:

Tempt you with goats cheese?

16th Feb 2007, 08:06

Viv says:

oh wow
- insurance - fuel - will bump up the cost though!

16th Feb 2007, 11:42

MaggieD says:

Love the colour .....

16th Feb 2007, 12:20

JokerXL says:

Cool-car!
Aren't they a bit thirsty though?
And he'll have to drive around with the doors locked, strange people will keep randomly jumping in at traffic lights.
;-/

16th Feb 2007, 12:58

Steve says:

It's diesel and he thinks that it is fine on the thirsty front.

Yes locked doors are the key... unless he wants to make some more cash.

The insurance was pretty low

16th Feb 2007, 13:29

stephen fry owned a taxi for personal transport and he says he never had any problems using bus lanes...
