it stops traffic in Vancouver where they NEVER get this kind of snow.
snow days are great. I wouldn't mind one. right now.
Edmonton is - 27 ish right now and there is tons of snow!
Viv> Vancouver reminds me of England sometimes. Any even slight extremes of weather and the whole place goes wrong. We also have the hosepipe ban summers, followed by the flood-warning winters. For a city that gets more rain than Leeds, we've recently had water problems from mud slides into resevoirs. And now there's a bit of snow, and everyone is in a panic. I've already seen 4 cars skid off the road.
Anon> that's one of the reasons that Alberta doesn't appeal to me as a place to live!
It does bother me a bit that your Canadian experience has been so BC. More California than stupid hard drinking, run of the mill hockey playing Tim Horton's kind of people. BC is another planet, and Victoria is more British than Britain. May they all drive off the road on their summer tires.
I know! But I've been around quite a bit of Canada; Calgary, Banff, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Peterborough, St. Catherines, Niagra on the lake, Niagra etc.
There's something disturbing about a city in which the second a hockey/football/whatever game finishes, everyone leaves the pub. My friends were saying that 20 minutes after we won the Grey cup (top prize in Canadian football), the pub was empty!
