people say it's ugly because it's made of concrete.


those people are wrong. look at that awesome staircase, or that honking great air duct. phwoar.


The problem is, the last few times I've been to take pictures of the university, there has been loads of construction going on, obscuring many of the best photos.

Concrete 60s stuff can look fantastic in the right context. The South Bank, for example, is one of my favourite parts of London.

Having said that, if Glasgow Uni admin had gotten their way in the sixties and replaced all the lovely mock gothic stuff with concrete, it would have been a crying shame.

The site was absolutely famous for being ugly. But this was brilliant. Why did'nt anyone make anything ofit? It was a lankmark-everyone knew what it was. they should have painted it white or something and people would have loved it because it was different
