The same photo taken on different days. It's amazing what a difference the water can make.

ohh that'a a fantastic comparison! and both are great shots in their own right!

wow! these shots are fascinating! why haven't they been HL'd? Why oh why!?!?

They are great pics aren't they? I came back for another look.

Personally Jetblacknewmoblog, I think people are getting a bit obsessed with highlights. So many comments I see at the moment say "very HL'able" rather than "very nice" or "I like this picture because.."

Not everything can be highlighted and what is, is often there because it looks good on the homepage or because it's fashionable or topical. IMO, that is.

The pictures are still here for us to see and comment on, which is the point. And they're lovely :)

Thanks for all the comments :-)

Swampy> I think it's a stunning city through anyones eyes; it really is difficult to take a rubbish shot of the place.

OJ> I agree that people are a bit obsessed with HLs (although I'd be lying if I said I didn't like getting them). I am guilty of leaving "very HLable" comments though. Personally I think there should be more emphasis on newer moblogs that could really do with the exposure because fewer people visit them.

D> thanks! I was actually thinking about blowing these up for my wall.

I realise i take HLs too seriously, but RAB's right - I see so many brilliant pictures on newer blogs that are missed by people - I want a 'notify a friend about this picture' function!
