I am married to Spiderbaby and live in Banbury, Oxfordshire after eight years living in the USA and Sweden. I am working and training as a clinical scientist for the NHS in Oxford.

There are now over ten years of photographs on my blog! It all started with a photograph I took on the 1st of May 2004... It's been a wonderful journey, thank you all who have shared it with me, and made this blogging community one I keep coming back to!

Interesting things I read recently:

"Only one in five people born [in the UK] since 1975 believes in God".
Source: Prof David Voas, University of Essex

"For every dollar invested in the Human Genome project, $141 was returned to the US economy". Francis Collins, NIH
Source: New Scientist 27 July 2013.

I am Pavlovs_dog on PSN and would be happy to link up with Playstation-owning mobloggers : )

Too Much Information: The first album I ever bought was the Fraggle Rock soundtrack. Pretty cool, eh? I was only 16 : )

OJ says:

I knew this one would be one of yours!

A very clean image this one. It almost looks uncanny, the way there's no light outside the bulb. You know, radiating...

crickson says:

Ah! I'm predictable! You wound me!

EDIT: Mandy> It's one of the lights being used while our corridor has some noisy maintenance done on it.

OJ says:

You just had to take that the wrong way didn't you?

You're developing a theme, would be the positive way to put it...

crickson says:

Let's just say the view from my office doesn't quite rival RABs!

24th Oct 2006, 19:43

OJ says:

Does RAB work with you? That would be annoying - RAB having the great view and you not, I mean.

I work with my back to a window. It's a bit sad.

Very nice. Am jealous. Must find out more about how this picture-taking actually works...
:)

crickson says:

RAB lives in Vancouver. His lab window takes in a breathtaking view of the city's commercial district. I live in Leeds. My lab window is too dirty to see through because the university won't pay to have it cleaned.

But I'm not jealous because i have a nicer camera. Oh, bugger. I don't now.

He's just a git ; )

EDIT: Tomorrow he's an old git.

I also recognised your work from the thumbnail. And like OJ I mean it as a compliment too

FilbertFox says:

i am obviously too stupid, i rarely recognise peoples pics from the thumbnails.

At least you have a window - even our poster of Mr Depp has been taken away from me.

paintist says:

25th Oct 2006, 08:51

for some reason i really like this picture...i'm going through a prolonged yellow-appreciation-period at the moment...

25th Oct 2006, 10:22

FilbertFox says:

Cap'n jack has been replaced with a notice board - with nought on it as yet

25th Oct 2006, 12:10

crickson says:

Put Cap'n Jack on it!

MF> Thank you - yellow rules!

25th Oct 2006, 19:29

FilbertFox says:

25th Oct 2006, 21:03

MaggieD says:

Nice one Son Of Crick!

26th Oct 2006, 08:20

Ooo... I like it!

And it's not my fault I've got a nice view from my office. Or (finally) got myself a swanky camera. And it's true, I'm now old. I've been trying to retain my youth through pickling it in alcohol for the last 5 days.
