"At least it livened up an otherwise mundane day."*

*Not me, because Baby Jamie had already brightened up our day.
And didn't my k750i do well?

I'd like to be able to read that article but the link is broken.

also this is a stunning picture and i would highlight it, not because i'm a nepotist but because it's great and golden and dark and sparkly.

Fixed it! Ta, I took a few pictures, just clicking away, and this is the only one that was any good, but pretty damned good at that. Didn't know that this camphone had it in it.

The Registry did fine, surprisiingly. We had one marooned customer, but he had his cagool on (oh I've found mine - should have taken it out for a wash in the storm, hoping the downpour has at least got rid of the bird muck from my car).

*jaw drops* First, that's a lovely picture! Now, call me an iggerant American, but I didn't think the UK got tornados! Wow. Hope everyone is OK over there!

Oh, and note to BBC weather reporter - there is no such thing as a mini-tornado. Even an F1 is one scary beast.

It was indeed very odd.

Bit overcast, warm, then WHOOSH, then dry and sunny...

Anyone see the news reports on local news last night? Hilarious. My favourite bit was the ex-ambulanceman-turned-postie who "Was looking around for bodies, and injured people, but there were just bits of debris" - he sounded so dissapointed!

It is a good pic. I was in a meeting with everyone looking sideways at the windows as it was lashing down and thereafter trapped at Leeds station. Can you give me a more glamorous/gritty version of the "Great Leeds Storm" story please?

Viv says:

look at Filbert Fox for another pic

Helen says:

The UK has about 30-40 tornadoes a year, but most don't happen in built up areas. This one was a two. I've heard tales of people seeing iron benches fly past their window. A colleague lost her chimney. I just saw lots and lots of rain.

No dead bodies, bummer.
