It certainly does Jigalong
It is a major river and gives its name to our area - Wharfedale
the next dale along is Nidderdale - River Nid
the only river I know of that dries up runs on limestone - so it rather soaks down than dries up and is only a small river anyway
if you click on the wharfe tag you should see all my pic's of the river

Lol, you too also have funny names. I can only imagine how you pronounce Nidderdale and Wharfedale
