The grapes of wrath

Spent the evening drinking with some old work colleagues in my local pub which is called 'The Grapes' parts of it date back to the 15th century. In common with almost every pub in the East end it lays claim to some sort of linkage with Charles Dickens although whether he drank in there is a little unclear.

A friendly melting pot for well heeled city types, local river dwellers and tourists its a great place to spend the evening and feels timeless. The beer is good and a no nonsense land lady holds court.
