8.38am...nice early start to the smut!
you've been thinking of that all morning, haven't you joker?! hehehehe.
A pedant writes:
Your poetic devices give me the willies
Assonance is your achilles
'Cause consonants come crashing
First to give alliteration to a verse.
Am dyslexic so had to have lots of thing beaten in with a bit of 2x4. That was a paraphrase of one of a teacher's bits of 2x4... Sort of rose up unbidden & escaped...
I work with a dyslexic, I've gotten used to reading her emails phonetically..
Just had to accept I'll never write/ type as fast as most. Daren't give in to SMS-speak either or everything'll go totally hatstand again...
Don't. ever.
I hate all that txt spk bollocks....I punctuate my text messages.
killing the english language it is.
I have, Banks is one of my favourite authors...I prefer his fiction to his science fiction, but feersum enjin is superb....and yeah, it's book that gets you reading phonetically :)
some of Irvine Welsh' is like that too. agreed on the text speak though. i hate all of that stuff.
I love Welsh as well...when you read Irvine Welsh, you start thinking in Scottish :)
I started having to mark essays in txt spk. Annoyed the crap out of me so I docked loads of marks.
I punctuate my text messages too, until I run out of letters. Then I slowly go back and un-punctuate bits until it fits in one message. I don't have much of a life.
The udders reference made me chuckle btw.
I loved Feersum Enjin - the rhythm of the language he used was lovely. Like IW too but the rhythm didn't get to me in the same way. Agreed on the txt spk - wtg Rare - although sometimes I'll do anything to keep my messages small enough to fit into just one SMS.
