. . . but there are how many bicycles in Tokyo, Katie Melua?

Well, I can tell you: LOTS!

The Japanese sure are an environmentally concious people. You see recycling bins everywhere, and sensibly, many Tokyo folk choose to use bikes to get around, as evidenced in this picture.

I have been nearly run over by cyclists loads already, because they tend to cycle on the footpaths. However, I'm wising up a bit more now and learning to listen out for their bells, as they do usually warn you when they're coming your way :-)

If only more countries we're that way inclined then maybe we wouldn't have such a problem with the environment and obesity.

You are quite right of course but I could choose to ride a bike to work but I don't :-( Maybe I should.

Think you could arrange for la Melua, Queen of the Bland, to be run over by massed ranks of Japanese bicycles? A girl can dream....

Nick says:

LOL! I'll ask around and see what I can do.

Well, if you're doing requests - you could always blog some sushi... :)

Nick says:

I'd rather honour the first request as I'm neither a big fan of Melua or sushi, but I keep telling myself to give the japanese fish thing another go, so who knows.

hildegard says:

Sushi doesn't have to involve raw fish - 'sushi' means the rice, not the fish. Some sushi is veggie, some involves cooked fish (crayfish, crabmeat, prawns...) Hotdog knows more than me...
(Edit) but I may hold you to the Melua thing...

Nick says:

It was the vegetarian version that I tried. I Think it was the seaweed that put me off. I'm just not brave enough to wade in and just order randomly. I need someone to recommend stuff.

ViX says:

I find seaweed disgusting... my flatmates last year were chinese and they made me veggie sushi. I nearly vomitted right there in the kitchen when I ate the seaweed, lol. They made a beancurd thing tho which was nice :)
