Moblogging my life in northern Minnesota, USA
Wow. The top shot is something else - like holes in the sky. Beautiful.
Mandy, the drought conditions are technically still not over around here. I have heard it will take 5 inches of rain to catch up with normal rainfall for this time of year. The storms moved through really quickly with high winds and didn`t drop much water - about one inch in a week, but it did help a bit.
Caine & Brian, thanks! I was sitting around in the house since it had been rainy outside, when the sun broke through the clouds from near the horizon, lighting up the living room with an orange-pink glow. I walked out side and this sky caught my eye. This was the first time I saw the sky do this, too. Based on the way it looked in person, it believe rays of sunlight were streaking through holes in the low altitude clouds to the west projecting an image across the sky onto higher altitude clouds above and to the east.
