Evening on Lake Vermilion

The plan was to go out on Lake Vermillion with Anton, meet up with a couple
other guys, and go wake boarding. The weather was perfect: warm sun, dead
wind, and a lake as smooth as glass. As such, there were a lot of other
boats on the lake, so it took a while to find a quiet area to do some wake
boarding. Just as we found a suitable location, a storm cloud appeared and
the wind picked up. After many days with no rain, the rain started falling.
After trying to dodge raindrops for a few minutes, we headed north to a
rustic island campsite to make some food instead. Rain was here and there,
off and on. Neglecting to bring any tools for cutting firewood, we had to
improvise. Anton threw a piece of wood on the fire that was much too large
for the fire ring. The rain passed, but by then the temperature had cooled
down too much and the sun was getting close to the horizon. No wake
boarding today, but a good evening on Lake Vermilion, nonetheless.

Hahaha! The current fire ban does not include campfires if you use a fire ring... although the limits may have been stretched a little here. :)
