Found these old pics at my Grans house. I love them - and I love the fact
that my Grandpa took most of them. He had a creative side I never knew
about.

Thanks guys. In the top pic - my mum is the kid on the far right. And its her in the 2nd pic down. My mum is rather glamourous - so to see her as a child in wellies & a cardi is so lovely to me! The rest of the pics are my gran with my aunt, & my uncle is the boy in the bottom two. I scanned them so I have digital copies of them too. My gran's heading towards 90 now - I really want to sit down & do a family tree with her. I love looking at these pictures - seeing who my family were then and who they've become.

I really love old photographs. The photos themselves but also the way that people save them, the way the photos resurface, their simultaneous specificity and universality. It's also really interesting to see how the landscape changes.
I always wonder which of the photos that we're taking and posting today will turn out to be the ones that fascinate the next generations. I'm guessing that it might not be the ones we think.
