crazy shot, dude. awesome. looks like the queens celebrations of yesteryear...
Thanks guys. Yeah, it's a bit of a shame the quality of my XDA IIi's camera isn't great - I'm hoping to get a Soney Ericsson P990 in August though, so the resolution should improve considerably :-D
It's a good and well-composed shot Chris. But I have to come out as a Saint George's cross hater. I'm not a big fan of any nationalism myself and wouldn't even wave a Welsh dragon flag. But this particular flag just says BNP too loudly to me - all the football in the world doesn't shake the association. Especially in places like Leeds. Bit of a problem just at the moment! Great capture though....
I know what you mean OJ, but to me they just scream "chav" more than anything else..
good shot mate.
I dunno - from an immigrant's point of view I see it as a nice use of the flag - claiming it back as patriotic and proud of a team doing well rather than overbearing or imposing.
Felt a little nervbous in the pub on saturday, but that was just the sheer number of people I think!
I try to see it like that seaneboy, but, well, it doesn't quite work for me.
The great shot I never took was outside a pub near Dewsbury on Saint George's day - hot day, huge flag draped on front of pub, 30 or so fat, sunburned skinheads on pavement with lager. It was going to be called This England but they were too intimidating to stop and take the pic.
Sorry, rambling...
i am so completely *over* england. i hate the way that so many people see football as an excuse to be the lowest of the low. we should be banned from taking part. the disgusting oiks who run around at this time of year just make me ashamed to be from england. other countries seem to be able to deal with it, are we really that stupid?
i'm not sure i really understand your point, A.
in what way are you *over* england? what aren't we dealing with?
