when cannabis becomes legal!! the worlds leaders high!
then it will stop!
i dont think the fack that its not legal will stop the world leadres spike!
oh spike jamie says BOOO you!
I wouldn't say America opposes democracy - just that they need to decide on a universal definition of "Democracy" :)
america is one of the least democratic countries in the world. beacon of democracy my arse.
see: george w bush losing but winning the 2000 election (and most definitely the 2004 election too), the recent development of centralized voting machines with no paper trail - vote rigging, assassinating democratically elected leaders around the world (including their own), (covertly) funding and supporting opposition groups around the world that serve american interests, their utter contempt for media and journalistic responsibilty, widespread and endemic corruption, lobbying groups, votes for cash, the disenfranchised black vote, the two party system, the fact that washington and america is run by rich white males,
so what i'm saying in my usual heavy handed way is that if the above was sorted out then maybe it'll 'fucking stop'. very good chance it would actually. i'm with spike on the legalisation of cannabis too. squeegee the third eye.
Oh aye, I'm fully aware of all that - what I'm saying is the administration there thinks that's democracy.
With G and the lads on this one ….. can recommend Noam Chomsky’s “Hegemony or Survival – America’s quest for Global Dominance” – short book (just 200 pages) coherently argued, easy read….. also John Pilger “New Rulers of the World” – am a great admirer of John Pilger ever since his reporting on Cambodia…..
.......or as TP would have it "Sodomy non sapiens," ……………..buggered if I know…..
you gotta be heading in the right direction of you're digging chomsky and pilger. thanks for introducing me to the TPism. if we're on that vibe please allow me to recommend the best democracy money can buy by greg palast. probably one the the best journalists in the world. very very good
what do we do? dunno :( keep reading, keep learning, tell your friends? there is a bit at the end of the film 'the corporation' where they talk about what can be achieved through grassroot community involvement. that i suppose?
Swamprose …think Chomsky et al would agree with you there…..follow the money…at the risk of being accused a proselytizer... international capitalism is to blame…. So what to do …."Why don't we just invite them to dinner and massacare them when they're drunk?" ....
"You heard the man, there's 7000 of them" ....
"Ah...so it would have to be something simple with pasta then?" …joking aside…. Education is a start……
i've spent the afternoon downloading chomsky lectures. about 30 hours worth. i'm going to burn them onto a cd and give them out to people at every available opportunity. i think that the movement can grow exponentially what with the internet and information being so easily available, cos it wasn't 10, 20, 30 years ago.
Swamprose…Where is your little corner of the world? Perhaps we have both been at the same barricades?.... can see cynicism has crept in…. I am hovering on the edge of cynicism myself ….. take heart in all the young people I know that still question…..but short of a revolution…….
Apolgies to Puddlepuff ... was not infiltrating your blog site for oportunities to spout forth .... just got caught up in the swing of things......
you shouldn't apologise, he has posed a question and an attempt is being made to answer it
Ok – thanks g – was not sure of etiquette..
there I go showing my age again....
...must be a polite revolutionary...a contridiction in terms.....born to be mild......
LoL @ G,... and that's what I opted :)
It seems that I have missed a whole conversation on my own blog **shames**.
I'm gonna have to read up on this tomorrow at work,.....
