Sleeptracker, the miracle watch that knows when you should wake up. Apparently it really works too. I shall report on it's performance tomorrow morning.

An anniversary present from Louise, yay! I bought her tea at Brown's Hotel in Mayfair in return :-).

OK, so night 1. I had really restless sleep, probably because I caned a bag of honey popcorn about an hour before going to bed - lots of sugar. I woke up at 4:25 and I remember thinking "did the watch wake me, no, it's still dark." I don't think this really makes for a fair test of any alarm clock :-).

Anyway, this morning I was definitely pretty awake when it went off. It's a familiar feeling, when you just turn your alarm straight off in a matter of fact way, instead of flailing madly at it. I was still tired and that meant I didn't get up for nearly half an hour after that, but that's no major change. I think some of the restlessness was due to anticipation that the watch might go off any minute. It rang at 8:52 in the end (set for 9:00 with a 20 minute window). Hopefully tonight I will be more able to relax and let it do it's job.

Night 2. Slept much better, less sugar this time. Was worried this would be a misleading test as Louise had a dentist appointment at 8:45 in Balham. It's OK though, she set her alarm for 7:00 P.M., and my experiment proceeded as planned.

Result: again I was pretty conscious when the alarm went off. I turned it off neatly. Again I was still tired and dozed for a bit, though I didn't go back to sleep. This is the danger I think. It wakes me up great, but then I just go back to sleep. I'll have to train myself to just eject my body from bed as soon as.

Hmm, sounds fun.
