Third one down's lovely!

Wanted to get into the Peaks at the weekend but between wanting to watch the National and it being fecking freezing on Sunday (with evil hail and snow) I didn't quite make it. But soon.

This area is incredibly beautiful. They've just got a big lump of (mostly) untouched rainforest just outside the university. It's not even full of drunken students, which I found quite weird.

what the untouchedness of it, or the drunken students?

I think there's some weird law that says it can't be developed on, despite it being in Point Grey, one of the most affluent areas of the city.

As far as the number of drunken students, I don't think that'll change. Unfortunately people haven't embraced the alcohol too much here, with pot being the drug of choice for most.

Yeah, I guess. Although I think the US is more into their booze.

Plus I don't think it went ahead, but a few months ago the UK gov't decided to increase the amount of weed you can be in posession of without getting arrested to 4 oz. I'm not too clued up about these things, but I think that's rather a lot for 'personal use'. Anyway, I think availability isn't the issue. Although you do have to jump through hoops to get a beer here. The 'alcohol only available from lisenced liquor store' policy is rubbish.
