We had a blizzard yesterday afternoon too, and frost last night. I've seen snow in July in the UK.

It never rains here and has been so bad not too far from where I am at the moment that floods (from rivers that nomally don't even have water in them this time of year) have washed away houses and 400 people have been stranded for the best part of a fortnight. They're blaming it on El Nino. I'm blaming it on global warming

It's actually La Niña at the moment, which makes for a cooler Pacific. The Northern Hemisphere is also having its strongest negative North Atlantic Oscillation for fifty years, which accounts for the cold winter in Europe and North America (Japan also had it's coldest December since 1948). Global warming may be involved, but, if it is, it's in a complicated way :)
