Let us know how you're finding it Mr Nikonista, i'm about to take the plunge and get either this cam or the EOS 350D, i'm leaning towards the Canon but i'd love to know what you think to your lovely Nikon, and most important see all the lovely pics!

17th Mar 2006, 10:25

Joe says:

I have the nikon too SSLove, I guess it depends on what you're used to, both cameras have the same lens fitting, I went for the nikon because I was used to the interface (my last 2 Digi cameras had been nikons)

not sure if you've seen this:
not much in it, the cannon has more resolution, the nikon has better flash sync and wide shutter speed range, so I guess it depends on what you're using it for :)

This review is also well worth a look. The 350D is an excellent camera, but one of the things that pushed me towards the Nikon was the physically larger sensor (which means better sensitivity) and the apparently poor quality of the lens that comes with the 350D retail kit :)

Thanks for the linkage, not seen the 1st one and i've been reading anything and everything about all DSLR's in this price range. I'll be buying the body only, got my beady eyes on a couple of great lenses.
Although, for the outlay, if I can afford it, I might get the kit lense with it anyways for the price and as a chuckaround/sell-on with camera if/when I come to upgrade, lense

I'll tell 'em Euphro sent me, maybe you'll get free P&P; next time or something :)

17th Mar 2006, 12:55

I prefer my 350D but the Nikon is good also

Euphro (NLI) says:

The 350D is a great camera; it was touch and go between it and the Nikon for me (with the Olympus e-500 getting a brief look-in), but it was the kit lens issue that swung it in the end :)
