Our blog was set up, primarily, for children in school to see what others were up to when off-site. However, after only a few weeks of actually getting pictures on the site the possibilities for inspiring learning are becoming apparent.
We'd already established links with two schools in France but we are now exploring the potential of mutual blogs so that our children can comment and interact with international partners. We're receiving pictures from the arctic from one of our parents and the level of interest in geography is rising withouteven trying. The potential is immense.
It might sound like it but we're not anoraks!
BLOGGING'S GREAT FUN
and, at the same time, a fantastic educational opportunity.

Wedding in Year 1

(viewed 789 times)
Bookmark and Share
On Monday 13th March our Year 1 children (5 & 6 year olds) visited the local church where, as part of the RE curriculum, the vicar married two of them. This was just like a real wedding with: wedding music, vows being made, bridesmaids and Best Man in attendance, signing of a register etc. and, of course, a reception back at school in the afternoon.

I've updated this since backward lamb sent a comment! The vows contained the word 'pretend' so where a promise was made it wasn't legally binding! It was all done in the best possible taste.

The reigster that the children signed contained the word 'pretend' in the title so that there wouldn't be any confusion.

How completely strange, but I can imagine it from a kids perspective as being a real hoot.
