A Tiny Piece of the World

I can see my house from here, well the city I live in at least. When I was
doing this jigsaw I had no idea where a lot of places went and there were a
lot of places I'd not even heard of. Which I suppose is a combination of me
having bad geography and the world being a big old place.

Why is the Denmark strait nowhere near Denmark?

Something to do with Greenland once being a Danish colony I think.

Greenland (on the jigsaw) has Denmark underneath it in brackets. From a little search on the internet it seems that Greenland is an 'auonomous part of Denmark' and has had it's own government since 1979. Greenland's nominal head of state is the Danish monarch.

You see, this jigsaw is a learning experience for me!

Another map where the Isle of Wight doesn't quite exist... Is it there at all, am I going mad?

The 250 or so man made islands off the coast of Dubai that represent the workd also don't appear on the jigsaw. Interestingly, I don't think those folk in Dubai bothered to create another little Isle of Wight for someone to buy.
