High Moon

I was fascinated to learn that last night was the UK's highest moon
for 18 and a half years. There are no interesting visual effects
associated with the phenomena - the moon does not get larger or
increase in brightness or develop a misty halo. It just hangs really
high up in the sky. This is what the moon looked like through an
entirely inadequate camera.

You can't tell from the photo, but the moon is really high up. I had to stretch my neck muscles noticeably beyond their standard moon viewing angle in order to take the picture.
