from the thumbnail, I thought it was something on fire

7th Dec 2005, 10:07

bronxelf says:

It's just sodium lights. :) When you look at them they don't seem that orange. It's just the camera doesn't filter the same way so it comes out glaringly orange.

kostika says:

The night mode on my camera does the same thing sometimes. But it can cause some of the koolest effects sometimes.

bronxelf says:

Well I couldn't have gotten this with the crappy camera in the treo. This came out of the Nikon.

(the E5400, not the D70.)

kostika says:

Your digi takes some pretty good pictures. I figured it wasn't from the treo :o)

7th Dec 2005, 10:19

bronxelf says:

Yeah the treo is complete crap for photos. Everything is way yellow.

This is what happens when you trundle outside at 4:30 am with a digital and a tripod.

Geodyne says:

Oh wow, I missed this one somehow. It does look like something out of a fantasy.

7th Dec 2005, 12:06

you casually set up a tripod and a camera at 4:30 in the morning? Thats committment!! Very good shot indeed. Quite simple but framed very well with a great effect.

7th Dec 2005, 12:12

bronxelf says:

I trundled around in the snow in Van Cortlandt Park at 4:30am. Because snow in NYC only looks good while it's still falling. Once it stops, it gets nasty very fast.

bronxelf says:

Thank you. :)
