I am a female, carbon based lifeform.
I am a New York City Native.
I am a Design Professional.
I take photographs.
I also sculpt, paint, create mosaics, and play with weapons.

What I see, is what you get.
Ace pic! :)
Thanks guys. I should probably mention this photo hasn't been processed *at all*. This went straight out of the camera to here, with no photoshop at all. The lighting is just as it was at the time, even though it looks like Ive been desaturated against the background. I wasn't desaturated in the photo before this one, either.
Thanks a lot!
Alfie- Funny, Lars accused me of being a replicant just yesterday.
that's wonderful :)
That's a marvellous shot. I love the iridescent colours in the background :)
Thank you. :) And again, neither of these photos (this one or the one previous) is altered for colour. This one came directly out of the camera like this with no adjusting whatsoever.
Thank you. Lars and I have worked together on a *lot* of things over the years, and ocnsistently he takes the best photos of me, and he does it *very* quickly. He took about 10 of these, at various shutter speeds and distances, and he took about 5 of the other one, against the lamp post. took under 10 minutes for the whole thing.
Then again, I just AM desaturated, in general. It's the Dark Star effect. *laugh*
Funny, because Ive been bemoaning some of its faults lately, but clearly it's not the technology at fault. I just need to become better at taking photos.
Bladerunner indeed. And yet, the coat gives a real feeling of a fairy-world as well.
And a dark star. ;-)
It does make you look like you're stalking through the city ready to mete out your own brand of violent vigilante justice
It was just raining all night, so you get the steam off the lights. :) And it's always that brightly lit out there. It may as well be daylight in Times Square at night.
Thank you. :) As I've been saying, really this is Lars' doing far more than mine. We just work well together. He's been taking my photo for a a *long* time now.
wow, they're certainly right -0- quite possibly one of the best moblog shots ever. nice.
Thank you very much. Lars says thank you also (he has just wandered in here.)
I am so sorry. I fell asleep in the afternoon and didn't wake up until after 11. :(
That's okay -- I'll be back soon. *smile* I'm glad you got some sleep!
Bleh. Insomnia sucks. I wish I had some sort of cure all to offer.
Lately, when I can't sleep, I knit. Doesn't put me to sleep in the slightest, but at least I feel productive.
ive realised what makes this shot so cool; it looks like you're walking in the middle of traffic.
Love the shot. Reminds me of why you love your city so. The fact that you are a natural denizen of it is highlighted. You are truly in your element.
Alfie-- That's because I *was* walking in traffic. I'm not on the sidewalk.
TNRkitect- Thank you very much.
Thanks, everyone. :) I'm really happy with it. Lars and I were talking about how far he thought I could push the image so it could be blown up large. I don't know the answer to that yet, but I do have a really big frame here and a spot in my back hall that's sized for it, so we'll see.
Damn fine image ! Blow it up or make it the photo of the year :-) I'm just stoked I got to see it......well done Bronx.
DocD : bladerunner is one of the best future-fi movies ever made. Very noir and gritty.
is it times square elf? I believe we may have walked down that street together if it is :)
love that pic - it really is quite cyberpunk
mobology-- I'll see what I can do with it. I have teh mad photoshop skillz, yo.
Joe-- Yeah. I was on the 7th Avenue side. That's 7th Avenue between 47 and 48. I was walking northbound on 7th.
I'm going to join everyone else with the praises.
wonderful. :)
