Carol says:

never seen so many in one place. What are the other reasons you want to live there?

FilbertFox says:

We found a hill once. well more a gentle incline in reality but it seemed quite steep at the time!

crickson says:

I love Holland too! It's like an idealised England - free BBC, everyone speaks good English, the streets are clean, you can cycle just about anywhere... and best of all - easy access to stroop waffles! : )

I love stroop waffles! And unlike a lot of other european countries they do good chips, and the pancakes are amazing, if a bit odd at times - cheese and ginger, what's that all about?

Viv says:

cheese and ginger sounds great to me - you can get cheese with ginger in

like the idea of being able to cycle on the flat

go out of our house and there's a hill in every direction!

Holland is my favourite place on earth, like crickson says, it's an idealised england, liberal, accepting, diverse, and the people are just lovely, I try to go at least once a year, I've failed in that this year though.

Joe says:

you should Viv, my parents loved it, the place is packed with culture, and the general Dutch outlook on life is really refreshing.

I'm here now.. *grins*

You've missed wide open streets, lots of greenery, people who say what they think, pancakes with bacon and syrup (I don't eat pig but am told it's the best), poffertjes (mini pancakes made slightly differently), koffie verkeerd (literally wrong coffee which is lovely), eierkoeken (just finished my 6th), proper cycle lanes everywhere, vla (Dutch flavoured custard), great Indonesian food and don't forget that weapons, pit bull terriers and bribes to police are supposed to be tax deductible here :-)

oh yes and about 25% of tax revenue comes from drugs and prostitution and their human rights rep is about to take a downturn...

And of course Izadora-ble is here to
