I've accepted "a senior role" at Optimize.co.uk. They do all SEM work and also lead training courses with the Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) and Internet Advertsing Bureau (IAB) and often do seminars at Search Engine Strategies (SES) and Internet World tradeshows. Official start
tommorrow. We're leading a training course to 15 people!

Really happy about it. Got some excellent clients and the role is uber-flexible and challenging. Going to integrate my freelance SEM business and get my teeth into some big accounts.First duties are to get "officially certified" by google and start writing a chapter for a new book on search (which is being released next year by the IAB. How cool is that?!?!

Bit late on this but well done dude.

My background's in SEO and PPC, and I'm managing it for a big-ish (ftse 100) company at the moment - we've actually been speaking to a few PPC agencies over the last few weeks.

Anyway, I hope all is well at the new company and your Google certification painless enough!

Cheers Chris. BTW are you based in London or Leeds?

I was looking at client side stuff aswell and had a few promising offers. A bit torn though as I'm used to working on multiple campaigns and concentrating on search in general rather than their whole business. Why were you talking to agencies? Have you done any affiliate stuff? I haven't worked with any affiliates but all the in-house depts seem to love them.

Out of interest, how did you get into seo/ppc?
