The Fleece Inn

(viewed 1065 times)
The oldest pub in Worcestershire. It's owned by the National Trust and run by CAMRA.
And very nice it is too.

The room itself has pictures of country houses, including Alton Towers. The bathroom is Bergerac-themed.

Much nicer.
Thanks to some financial problems at the conference centre we'd previously been staying at, we've been moved to the nearest alternative accomodation. It's got a double bed! Curtains that don't smell! A minibar! One of those trestle things to put your luggage on! And even a corby trouser press. If i get particularly bored i'll be dismantling that, Partridge-style.

In a slightly disconcerting twist, it's the other way around, yet otherwise identical.

Every Little Helps

(viewed 5341 times)
I paid a little trip up to Tesco today to see if I could exploit a little loophole I'd been reading about on the forums on moneysavingexpert.com.

Tesco have had an offer on recently where you can buy their game of the week, along with a console, and get £20 off. They also have a policy where if the scanned price doesn't match the advertised one, you get a refund and keep the product. What's more, some stores haven't been keeping their point of sale materials up to date with the latest offers, while their tills have. If you found the right shop, you could get a free PSP or Nintendo DS.

I think my local store must have cottoned on to this, though - I got there to find the offer has been withdrawn. With scissors. Ah well.
