Ben Nevis

(viewed 129 times)
We have suspended the walk after 10 miles at Gairlochy. I had tried to lighten pack but my hips were sore this morning (must be contagious). I will do some research to find an easier way. Simba thinks we're having a day off. I haven't told him yet.

We're going up the Ben tomorrow. I'll keep Simba on the lead away from the edge, better to be cautious - a well trained dog is hard to come by, going by all the other dogs here. Who ever saw a collie with a muzzle??? The owner later said it was picking up maltesers, so she put mussle on. Not because he bites. Well, he does bite. Chocolates.

Photo of Simba day after Ben Nevis. I think he is dog tired, but not being a trained vet and so not able to do a complete physical test, I will just say he is Ben-Nevis-ed.

An evening on the Ben path

Pic1 A view of the campsite

Pic2 "Listen John, I don't mind accompanying you, but I'm not really built for pulling you up the hill!"

Pic3 The hills are great. But not necessarily for dogs. A lady lost her poodle when it ran off the top of Ben Nevis. No one found it.

Another dog took a short cut, but they think it will turn up.

It does say keep dogs on leads. Now you'll listen.
