I'm b-a-a-a-ck!

(viewed 1195 times)
Howdy, did ya miss me? Thanks to yourhermione and geodyne for letting
everyone know I came through the surgery OK! Doing pretty much good
here, but was forced into 2 days without using the computer due to a bit
of eye inflammation which caused looking at the computer screen for more
than about a minute to cause nausea. Nausea is bad. So, spent the last
two days watching an amazing (for me) amount of tv and getting amused by
the silliest stuff....yay vicodin! Back to Tylenol alone today though
and feeling pretty much OK, except when I first lay down or sit up...but
even that bit or pain only lasts about a minute. I'm also incredibly
lucky in that it seems I am one of the few rare cases where Augmentin
(them huge antibiotic pills) does not upset my GI tract...this is good.

One of the biggest moments of amusement was last night, when I came
across this "Cash Cab" show on Discovery (I think). Have you seen this
thing? It's a NYC cab that pick people up and it's a game show...as they
get driven to their destination they answer general questions and win
money for getting them right. All my narcotic-riddled brain could
picture was bronxelf getting in and having the lights and music go off
and saying "What in the nickel-plated fuck!". I'm STILL getting
giggle-mileage from it, which probably indicates that the vicodin isn't
totally out of my system :-)

Oh, and MFP - there will be a pick of the honkin huge nose bandage as
soon as I can get it out of DH's camera :-)

Calm Eye

I'm off to shower, come back and fool around on the web for a bit to let
the hair dry, then it's off to bed to get up early and be to the
hospital at 8. Surgery on the screwed up sinuses is scheduled to begin
at 9:30 but things get moved, so who knows how accurate that is. The
procedure should take about an hour, then wake-up takes a while (I'm a
slow waker). I expect we'll be home late afternoon some time. I'll try
to make an update before I assume the task of holding down the couch :-)I'm actually not nervous. Don't know if it's denial or anxiety meds
working, but I'll take it. DH has the rest of the week off so I have no
worries about taking care of the dogs or anything. Just want to get to
the other side of this thing now so I can get on with my life.

Beadblog for Kozika San

The finest, most precise seed beads in the world come from Japan :-) The single blue bead is one which escaped from the tray but I found it before it fell onto the blue carpet, never to be seen again!

Cadbury Blog for Swamprose

Couldn't find the mini eggs, but I did find this particular bit of
lovelyness :-)

Edit (May/07/06): Make a note, people. These are really, really yummy!

Treat

Nothing like a little sugar therapy to make you feel a bit better after
a truly suckalicious day.

Frazzled

(viewed 1077 times)
This is me, today, on day 5 of a sinus headache for which I can take
nothing (No NSAIDS before sinus surgery, and it laughs at Tylenol) after
6 hours on and off the phone and live chat to AOfrigginghelL customer
service trying to figure out why an exe file needed to run their bloody
rotten so-called spyware protection suddenly assumes Rock of
Gibraltar-like proportions (1.5 GB...it should be about 3MB....). Why,
ask, am I using AOL? Because my boss is too much of a goddamned Luddite
to spring for a real ISP. So AOL causes problems, guess who gets to fix
'em? Yep. Me.Oh, result? AOL Spyware Protection...GONE. Blown away. Monday I'll
install Ad-Aware. And try yet again to talk boss lady into getting the
frick OFF AOL. And I went and did the groceries after work. Bought
myself a treat. Next post.

Beads!

(viewed 1319 times)
A little more pre-surgery prep - I'm advised to not do anything
strenuous for 3-5 days, which gives me a doctor-ordered excuse to bead.
Here are all of the beads organized for the next project (which will be
a case for my new camera when I finish it) and a small part of the
pattern - lily motifs over a black/white/gold background.

Cow socks

(viewed 2268 times)
Off to take care of all the presurgical crap today. Decided it was a
cow socks kind of day - nothing bad ever seems to happen when I wear my
warm snuggly cow socks. Plus, nice warm feet on a cold rainy yucky day,
always a good thing.
