32 inches unblocked, and now that the heat has broken I should just have
a few more days to done.

Hazy, Hot, & Humid (30.8C out, 23.8C in) . The thermometer is in deep
shade. In the sun it's pushing 95F (35C). JennyB comes to the window
every so often to catch the breeze coming in.

Scarf in progress

The color is totally not what I expected - I thought it was going to be a dark creamy sort of color*, but it's holy ORANGE, batman. Not a color I can wear so I think this is going to be DH's new scarf when I'm done. The pattern is based from a couple of different dishcloth patterns I found and played around with. It's come out rather interesting, it has a woven look on one side and a blocks pattern on the other. Not bad for guesswork.

* - monitors not be trusted. I got a sample card of this yarn and I forsee my sample card collection growing by leaps & bounds so I don't end up with the wrong color again.

ETA - I got the pattern written up, anyone who wants to see the PDF click:

Poor Gatsby

Poor fellow. First he gets mummified, then he gets blogged in a very undignified position. What a day!

Then he saw...

...the rock. 10 lbs of good old New England granite. Said rock knocked
the stick out of gear - and the e-brake needs worked on, it creeps, so
it wasn't set. Fortunately, the wheels were cut properly, so the car
only rolled about a foot before the sidewalk stopped it. That's theory
#2 of why nothing got stolen - the car moving may have freaked the
would-be thief out so they ran. I'm just glad something spooked them,
or the XM receiver would be gone, I'm sure.

His first thought was....

.."I could have sworn I rolled the window up last night". Then he saw
the glass in the street. And the glass everywhere in the car....

Some gift!

DH went out to go to work this morning and found a surprise :-(.
Fortunately the insurance seems to be on the ball. Notice he mentions
blogging photos in the first e-mail - he's learning :-). The big surprise is that nothing was actually stolen - and the XM reciever was in plain sight. Cop's theory is they smashed the window but got scared off before they had time to grab anything.

Lookie what I found

(viewed 1050 times)
Went to grab some groceries this afternoon and bought lots and lots of
nice veggies and fruit to munch for the week. I always check the
semi-lame international section of the grocery store on the distant
chance that they might have Pocky, which, as usual, they did not. They
did, however, have these, which I have also seen recommended by a
certain Kikuchan :-). Quite a tasty snack, I must say. You bite it and
its like there is nothing there - until the mint appears as more of an
aftertaste than a strong flavor. The chocolate is very nice. Next time
I may just have to check out an all-chocolate one.
