Day 1: Taunton - Somerset County Cricket Club

(viewed 313 times)
Beefy's walk kicks off in the same place as his cricket career. Beefy played his first domestic game for Somerset back in 1974 and continued to represent them until 1986.

It was while in hospital in Taunton that Beefy first met a group of children who were undergoing treatment for leukaemia. Following this meeting Beefy became committed to raising money to help fund vital research into leuakemia and related blood cancers. Beefy is delighted to be returning to Taunton for the first day of his walk.

Starting from Somerset CCC this 4-mile walk follows the banks of the River Tone and the towpath of the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal to finish back at the cricket ground.
