Was 0.69 yesterday! The doctor said there is a chance of going home tomorrow!! But i don't
wana get my hopes up because this always happens and the doctors make
you stay another day.
We'll see.Anyway pretty good i think.
And luckily i haven't been throwing up today!
The doctors said if i kept being sick yesterday they would do an
endoscopy (spelling?) where they put a camera down your throat to have a
So got out of that one! Hehe

This is what i have been living on for the last week :) thank you Mr
Muller.Guess what! Neutrophils are 0.73 today. Woooo thats 3 fold yesterdays
results. And the doctors said they are probably going to "kick me out" early next
week. Hooray! At last.
Sleeping in my own bed is going to be sooooo good. Also the microbiologists have stopped my nebulizer! Good, i hated that
stupid machine. Though tomorrow they will do another NPA (tube up the
nose thingy) to see if the virus is still there (which the doctors said
it undoubtably will be).
Virus's remain in your system for about 2 weeks after they have been
deactivated. Though i don't know if that means they restart the
nebulizer or not?Anyway good news about the neutrophils!
Woop woop! Can't wait to get out and cook some food (and get my taste back)Alex saville

A room with a view.

(viewed 1306 times)
You like the view from my window? Its a beautiful brick wall.
Haven't seen the sky for a while now.White blood count is 0.37 today!
And neutrophils are 0.25! 2 and a half what they were yesterday.
So hopefully i'l get out of here soon now, just got hope it keeps on
up.I've felt rotten today. Keep getting bad headaches.I spent the day watching food programs and coming up with recipes i
would like to try out when i get out. Sadly i still can't really taste
anything. Soon taste will be back when i have some more cells to heal
the damage all this treatment has done to my mouth.By the way the sign i used for yesterdays picture... My mum made it, so
i can't take any credit.Alex saville

Guess what?!?Today my white blood count is 0.19
(Double yesterdays)And more importantly neutrophil count is 0.9 !!
Wooo! Thats quite a jump from nothing to that. So hopefully it'l keep on
up quickly.Today i've felt a bit rough. I was sick while having the nebulizer. And
i've had a headache all day.But i guess that the blood results make up for the sickness. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Im here!

(viewed 1446 times)
I wasn't going to blog today because nothing interesting has happened at
all. As a matter of fact, i slept most of the day, i guess the treatment
has gotten to me.One thing that was very annoying about today is that the buzzer to call
the nurse doesn't work, so im pretty much stranded. If i need something
i have to use my mobile phone to ring the unit.I aint 4 fruit corners today! Well 2 fruit corners, 2 crunch corners.
Man i love muller yogurt. Its going to be a long night. I have the nebulizer from 10 till 12, and
i have to have 2 bags of blood. I think they only give me one tonight
though, because they take about 2 and a half hours. My white blood cell count is 0.09 today. That is incredibly low, but its
still a sign that the new bone marrow is startin to make cells.
Yesterday it was 0.08 and 0.05 the day before.
Normal count it about 5.00? So a long way to go.I dont have any neutrophils (the type of white blood cell involved in
fighting infections)
When neutrophils reach 2.00 then i can go home.
Just waiting now.Alex saville

Last night was very eventful.
I got my first bit of GCSF bone pain for a while.
GCSF is a daily injection i have to stimulate the bone marrow to produce
white blood cells.
last night i started getting throbbing pains in my hips and lower back
(i know this was caused by GCSF because its happened before)
The pain is like a pulse, in time with your heart beat, it is basically
your bone marrow swelling.
It was so painful i was screaming, and they gave me paracetamol, then
oxynol (opiate) and then some intravenous lorazopan (valium)
Hehe i love lorazopan, makes you relaxed and feel quite drunk.
That sorted out the pain.Guess what came in the post today. A letter from Leyton Orient Football
club, who i support. The letter was from the Manager Martin Ling!!!
Saying that he wishes me well and that he is happy that the clubs
promotion to the football league 1 made me positive. Wow! He even signed
I have to thank my brother Chris, because he wrote the letter to the
club saying i was in hospital.

Small particle aerosol generator

HeyIm in my new room. Its say 11ft by 10ft? Which doesn't sound so small,
but is if you think that its full of machines and the bed is smack bam
in the centre of it.
The toilet is a big as the room! Because is a disabled toilet! How
stupid, if you were in a wheelchair you wouldn't be able to get through
the room to the toilet!I got in here at 12am in the morning, then from 12.30am till 2.30am i
had my first dose of the antibiotic nebulizer. Then i had to wait for
15minutes before any staff could enter.
I have to hang a sign outside my room saying not to enter while im
having the nebulizer.Iv had 3 doses of the antibiotic now. I had it at 8am-10am, 2pm-4pm and
Its colourless and tasteless so not to bad.At this moment im have my first dose of aminoglobulin antibodies
(antibodies in a bottle for may donors). These are to help my body fight
the viral flu. Its like a mini immune system.Other than this im alright. Its pretty boring and claustrophobic in
here, but i guess i just have to bare it.Alex saville
