Presenting lighting, theatre and weather: formerly from the hills of Yorkshire, with bits and pieces of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and trips to Edinburgh; when the music stops, where will neel end up?

This Year's Firsts

(viewed 1553 times)
First trip to the Pleasance, first show, first over-priced pint of rubbish beer. Ah, it's Festival time.

City Nights

(viewed 1547 times)
Just after I got caught in the rain, the sun came out for one last gasp.

Oh yes - sometime over the next day or so my convenient 'net access is getting cut off. The joy. Just to let you know that I'll be descending back into the dark ages for a while.

Cake-y Bliss

(viewed 1696 times)
My friend Andy went and got married today. I missed the ceremony but turned up for speeches, cake and the start of the dancin'.

The cake was a three-tiered affair using a special stand as opposed to little pillars: it looked a lot like a tri-D chess set from STOS [/geek].

Alley

This is the service-access alleyway 'round the back of my work: some fantastic clashes of architectural styles and levels of maintenance. This bit is the back-side of Jenners, the oldest independent department store in the world. Or something.

Please Ask

Some spare signage lurking in the stockroom. Nicely repetitive.

Hate Movies: Love Piracy (clip)

Just been to see Fantastic Four: just think - you could be watching the entire movie in this amazing quality pirate-o-vision!

A Light Shower

I've been meaning to get these shots for ages. Ages. Could a friendly mod rotate them clockwise, please?

Scottish Parliament

(viewed 5731 times)
M'good friend Kat and me wandered down the Royal Mile to visit our local Democracy Centre.

Apart from this quite-famous side of the building that houses the MSP's offices, the outside of the Parliament really isn't up to much; even the public lobby on the inside (once through metal detectors and luggage scanners) is more gloomy than groovy.

But our advice is to front the cash for the guided tour and get to see all the really quite funky interior spaces. Sadly there's some conflicting opinions/signage over whether or not you're allowed to take photos, so this and some of the rather minimal frontage is all I got.

But the inside is fab.
