We couldn't interest Kevin McCloud in our barn conversion, so we went one better, a blog. You can follow our progress as we turn what was the kitchen of a medieval grange in south Devon into a home for a family of four. I will attempt to answer any questions, so write away!

Summer hols are over, we're out of the tent and back under a roof and now it's the final push for the barns. Will it be two months, three months or even next year? Who knows, but this is where to find out. There's an issue looming over the screed on the ground floor - goes over the underfloor heating - which apparently takes 60 days to dry before it can be covered. So it's gonna be at least that long before we can get in. In the meantime there's windows to be painted, put in, and walls to be plastered before the next stage payment is due. And the plumber has to get to first fix.

___We're out of our campsite and sad to leave after a wonderful two months, helped by our ever-smiling hostess Fiona who found us the biggest space on site. If you're in south Devon and want to know where the best campsite is, it's here: Bolberry House Caravan & Camping Park
Bolberry, Malborough, Nr Salcombe, TQ7 3DY

The other half snapped by our eldest. The back yard is the machine-room of the project, and consequently a total mess. Never mind, it will all be cleared up over the next 10 years.

Anyone know where the title comes from? Clue: Which lead singer has to cope with saintliness?
