We couldn't interest Kevin McCloud in our barn conversion, so we went one better, a blog. You can follow our progress as we turn what was the kitchen of a medieval grange in south Devon into a home for a family of four. I will attempt to answer any questions, so write away!

Believe it or not, upstairs is nearly finished, apart from painting the walls, floor and second fix electrics.

More mole action.
The screed is down and dries at a rate of 1mm a day. There are 50mm of screed, so that makes, erm. well, work it out, until we can put the floor finish on.

Windows and glass are in, primer and undercoat have been applied, now it's the topcoat, Farrow and Ball Clunch, which goes well with the Sadolin Sargasso Sea woodstain outside. Jean Rhys wrote Wild Sargasso Sea, one of H's favourite books.
