We couldn't interest Kevin McCloud in our barn conversion, so we went one better, a blog. You can follow our progress as we turn what was the kitchen of a medieval grange in south Devon into a home for a family of four. I will attempt to answer any questions, so write away!

The beams thankfully were sanded before moving in. But the dust is still settling. Just the varnish to go.

The sink looks blue, but is in fact white. The tiles are that green!

Mia still struggling with focus. Perhaps the fuzziness is a good thing though...

Had some fizz with the builders on Friday then went to work and had a drink with Jim and the lads before going back to work today and again tomorrow. Then it's Christmas Day!

What a difference a couple of months make. We're in and so is the tree. The floor is toasty, the bathroom works, and that's all that matters really. We're in and what a road it's been.

22 December
We moved in last night - exhausted but relieved. Simon and Kevin worked on floor til late then again at 0700 on Friday until midday when we sat round the kitchen table, cracked open a few bottles of fizz and thought, we did it. Good guys all, well done and have a cracking Christmas! Pix to follow.
It's worth remembering what this view looked like about five months ago - a pigsty. Which is exactly what it was. Whereas the pic below just looks like a tip!
