We couldn't interest Kevin McCloud in our barn conversion, so we went one better, a blog. You can follow our progress as we turn what was the kitchen of a medieval grange in south Devon into a home for a family of four. I will attempt to answer any questions, so write away!

Kev is the name of our new waste packet treatment plant which has just arrived to fill the front yard. It sits next to, appropriately enough, the builders' latrine, or Sharon, as we like to call it

Thought I'd add this just to show that it's not always sunshine and parties at Abbot's Ash. The blobs are snow and the ground reflects the sogginess of late on site. There's still a spring in our step however as the flowers change in the hedgerows from snowdrops to daffodils and the warm waft of the south-westerlies replace those chill-to-the-bone easterlies. The boys had a bit of bother with the roof yesterday, but the scaffolding is up on all sides, which looks promising. And they got chocolate cake as a reward too.
