i am convinced that this stuff is important: purring cats on your hip, sunlight that makes you squint and a slow waking, followed by a luxurious stretch.

This garage is around the block from my mother's house.

The house in front of this garage is half-boarded up. Sometimes, the side door is open.

I'm half tempted to go inside and see what it holds, but I don't dare.

I got my camera phone to send to moblog! :)

Yes, I'm moving on up in the word.

(and, yes. My duvet cover is orange. My current sheets are red. I do somehow manage to sleep in this bed comfortably!)

No no no, nothing crazy has happened. This is my grandmother's engagement ring. I recently pulled it out as I was putting my grandmother's watch-necklace into the safe.

If you look closely, the tree is split in three.

The snow had melted quite a bit by this time -- this was 24 hours after the snow started and it had been raining for most of the day Friday.

Lights were out everywhere. Over 250,000 people were without power.

A few days ago, I couldn't see that house near the center of the photo because of all the trees blocking the view.

Chapin Pkwy, Buffalo NY

Chapin Pkwy, part of the Olmstead parks system, is a tree lined street leading to Solider's Circle. Olmstead designed streets and neighborhoods based on traffic circles with trees lining the center median, canopying over the streets, offering shade, beauty, and a place for children to play, dogs to be walked, and joggers to run.

The early damage and cleanup estimates for this storm for Erie county is well over 100million dollars.

We went to the beach for a little while and skipped stones.
