Underneath the beautiful and attractive blue glued down wood effect lino floor there appears to be a load of boring old quarry tiles...

I can see now why the previous owners decided to change it! Blue wood effect is much nicer. Err...

Tolstoy is a big motor racing fan. He's been watching intently for about 10 minutes so far...

We got some super-cute Kittens from Wood Green this weekend. 10
weeks old.

They were born on pancake day, and so the names they were given
were Pancake and Sugar (there was a Lemon in the litter too, though
she has gone elsewhere). Sugar is a girl, who is slightly smaller and
more predominantly white. Pancake is the boy, and has slightly larger
patches of tabbyness.

He's quite shy, and likes sitting in the bookshelves a lot, so we
were considering renaming him Tolstoy. She's very outgoing and
naughty, so we were thought Minnie (as in "The Minx"). Though she
also drinks a lot, so a name along those lines might work. Is there a
female equivalent of George Best? :-)

Lee as chef

These aren't doughnuts. These are freshly larded clouds of dough filled with a luxurious raspberry preserve....

In the kid's playground in the local park, they've painted this compass thingie. I took the photo at about 11am. So what's going on there then!?

I cycled my first 210km Audax on Sunday. That's 130 miles to us Brits.

I was knackered, of course. And thought I was going to die for most of the 10 hours we were riding for!

This picture was actually taken by someone else on the ride - that's me on the left. I hope he doesn't mind me using it. It was originally posted by him here.
