Become a Womble for the day, and make re-use of the things that we find!

The London Community Recycling Network are hosting the first ever Big Womble on Friday the 20th February. Bring your old furniture and watch our team of artists create new furniture from it! Learn how to do DIY and wonder in astonishment at the Furniture installation.

Events on the day:

Watch Womble videos
Tidy bag workshop (great for kids)
Artists workshops turning old furniture into new
Food and Drinks at the end of the day
A Celebrity raffle with furniture donated by a whole host of celebrities including: Harry Enfield, Simon Cowell, Debbie Harry and Joanna Lumley.

The Big Womble will be on from 2-6pm at Wimbledon College, to help raise awareness of and bring in furniture for local reuse organisations. We’re inviting people from all over London to participate in some 21st century Wombling.

How to get involved:

Bring in an item of furniture (something old, something found, something broken), and learn how to fix it up with our furniture experts. It will then become part of our living furniture installation on stage and be donated to local furniture reuse organisations – groups that help keep furniture out of landfill and help alleviate material poverty.

Stick around for our ‘Tidy Bag’ workshop, where you can learn how to make your very own Tidy Bag out of a t-shirt, snack on some local food and stay for the raffle for celebrity furniture at the end of the day.
