The 13th International Conference

(viewed 982 times)
I've just finished speaking with Marie Jasinski here at the Edayz Conference in Adelaide about higher order thinking and the manner in which people need to connect with their spiritual self in order to realise dreams, hopes and aspirations.

Marie has informed me that this conference is the one worth getting to in the future - www.liu.se/thinkingconference.
/>
Marie fascinates me with her views on chaos theory, the power of role play and online simulations and also her views on IQ / multiple intelligences in the techning and learning ecospshere.

I spoke of indigenous communities, technologies, behaviours, projects and possibilities, goals, history and other artefacts. Upon reflection and with some feedback from Marie I take it that my keynote speech was lacking a "connection" with the learner - particularly those learners whose primary focus is that of student in the learning face-to-face world of VET training centres.

Marie spoke many times of how she thinks moblogging could be used and then I took Marie to mobdeadly and engageme . Interestingly I feel a little sad that we didnt get more time to discuss other things besides 'passion'.

Conference speak worries me. Doing speaks volumes. A picture speaks a thousand moblogs.

Some interesting links and statistics here for statistical analysis of where the uptake of -elearning, teaching and training practices and other benchmarking indicators can be found.

It will be interesting to see where 'm-learning' fits into this picture / rhetoric.

Digital Stories

(viewed 792 times)
Anne presented two digital stories edited and created by two young kids from the Bronx, America. Both of these young people were taken on Anne's expedition to Antartica where they had the opportunity to see global warming first hand, explore the wild waters, see the antartic wildlife and work together in a team of corporates and sea faring adventurers. this has really inspired me ( Alex Hayes) to consider how moblogging could be incorporated in a universal 'picture' networked live and as it happens using mobile communication technologies.
