This counter only counts visitors once so that we see the actual number of visitors to our page.
Our blog was set up, primarily, for children in school to see what others were up to when off-site. However, after only a few weeks of actually getting pictures on the site the possibilities for inspiring learning are becoming apparent.
We'd already established links with two schools in France but we are now exploring the potential of mutual blogs so that our children can comment and interact with international partners. We're receiving pictures from the arctic from one of our parents and the level of interest in geography is rising withouteven trying. The potential is immense.
It might sound like it but we're not anoraks!
BLOGGING'S GREAT FUN
and, at the same time, a fantastic educational opportunity.

Children have been taking part in a variety of activities throughout the school. Working on a 'circus of activities' on book themes they have, for example, come to school in a hat they have made to illustrate their favourite book, taken part in a competition to identify the teachers' favourite books, made an 'Elmer' cushio and made gingerbread characters. These photos illustrate some of the many activities. It's been a fantastic day, organised by our English subject-leader, Miss Herbert.
Credit to everyone who took part and made it such a success and memorable event - thank you!

Getting ready for sports relief. We shall be running the Mile around the school site. Prizes are available for other events and one young man looks longingly at a selection of them.

Setting out mulch mats to protect the trees from overcrowding weeds and anything else that competes for growing. It also helps natural composting.

Preparing to plant some trees in the local park.
We received some trees from the Woodland Trust in Autumn. These were planted in the school garden over winter. Some hedge plants arrived this week. With the support of the District Council we planted a hedge and an avenue of trees in the local park.
I think it's been a great success - linking up different agencies to improve the local environment for now and the future.
Some of these trees will still be here a long time into the future - well after we have departed!
