Our blog was set up, primarily, for children in school to see what others were up to when off-site. However, after only a few weeks of actually getting pictures on the site the possibilities for inspiring learning are becoming apparent.
We'd already established links with two schools in France but we are now exploring the potential of mutual blogs so that our children can comment and interact with international partners. We're receiving pictures from the arctic from one of our parents and the level of interest in geography is rising withouteven trying. The potential is immense.
It might sound like it but we're not anoraks!
BLOGGING'S GREAT FUN
and, at the same time, a fantastic educational opportunity.

Staff and children learn by being Tudors and dressing for the occasion. They produced some excellent writing in the form of letters from Anne Bolyn to Henry VIII persuading him to release her from prison. They are not impressed by the food, though!

..well they will after a few preliminaries. Safety discussion and a few
basic skills then onto the road for cycle training. If the children reach a
safe standard after their two-day training course they are encouraged to
cycle to school. Keep healthy, save the environment and save money.

The first and highly successful Dance Club that started tonight. Over 27 children took part - boys, too, which is great news. Well done to everyone who took part and thanks, Sasha, for organising it.

What a great way to start the new term - first day back and children in the Reception class are taking their science lesson outside: freezing and thawing - and that's just the teachers!

Sarah McGreavy, 1st in the 2007 AAA Indoor Championships: 60m Hurdles, visited our school today. She spoke to and inspired the school with her medals, achievements and personality; giving us all a positive and exciting day to remember. It's not every day that you get to chat to a world class athlete. More pictures will follow and you'll get a chance to see her hurdling with some of our youngsters.
Thanks, Sarah.

Pizzicato practise. The whole class is learning how to play the violin. They sound really good after just a few lessons. Definitely NOT alien music!

We're all trying to see what's going on. The craft landed on the playground before skidding across onto the field and crashing into the wall. We can all see it; but what's really going on here? Roswell here on Cannock Chase? It wouldn't be the first sighting of alien craft in the area.
